FAQs

What kind of wedding will it be? Traditional, Modern, Western?

We will be having a modern Korean wedding ceremony but we did try our best to incorporate some western aspects into the wedding. Korean weddings are usually very short and fast but we picked a venue that would accommodate longer hours. Youtube: Korean wedding

Why do we need to come early? (Before 5pm)

In Korean weddings; congratulating the couple, taking professional photos, and filling out the guestbook/gifts happens before the ceremony. Refreshments will be provided in the lobby area.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Our wedding will be semi-formal - but feel free to dress up and look nice! The better you look, the better the pictures will be. This only request we have is that attendees do not dress in full white. *Please dress for the weather (ceremony and afterparty are held on the rooftop)

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Seoul is around 25°C high/16°C low (77°F/60°F) at the end of September. Since the wedding will be going into the evening and will have an outdoor section, please dress appropriately. One word of warning, Asia has been abnormally hot recently, so make sure you check the weather forecast before flying out.

Am I invited to the rehearsal dinner?

Korean weddings do not have a rehearsal dinner. The only event is the wedding day itself!

Are kids welcome?

Our wedding is planned to be an adults-only event. For any infants or children under the age of 8, please reach out to Jason and Suzy directly.

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation. For any concerns, please reach out to Jason and Suzy directly. Please contact us direct.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Unfortunately hotel blocks are not common in Korea, but luckily there is a vibrant boutique hotel and AirBnB/hostel scene in Seoul.

Here are some areas we recommend:
Gangnam (near the wedding venue, upscale area),
Hongdae (young & hip, college party vibes),
Itaewon (expat-heavy, foreigner friendly),
Myeongdong (tourist area, well-known for shopping).
Insadong (traditional Korean architecture)
*We strongly recommend you avoid the Seoul Station area because there are lots of homeless and illegal AirBnBs.

Here are some of our hotel recommendations: Shilla, JW Marriott, Dormy Inn Seoul, Upflo Hostel, Nine Tree Hotel, Le Collective Seocho and urbanstay Myeongdong.

Do you have a registry?

Jason and Suzy don't want any physical gifts as they're still living a pseudo-nomadic lifestyle.
If you want to show your support to the couple, you can contribute to Jason and Suzy's honeymoon funds via PayPal or e-Transfer to Jason's e-mail address: [email protected].

I still have questions. What is the best way to contact you?

For any remaining questions or concerns, please reach out to Jason and Suzy directly! You can contact us via social media, by phone, or by email.
